Ebooks Corporation signs definitive agreement for sale of EBL to ProQuest
Ebooks Corporation Limited has signed a definitive agreement to sell Ebook Library (EBL) to ProQuest, an information company central to global research. The acquisition will further ProQuest’s goal of enhancing the research experience, enabling users to seamlessly discover content across multiple formats including books, journals, dissertations, newspapers, and video.
Upon of the sale completion, Kari Paulson, President of EBL, will join ProQuest to manage the combined ebook business unit and will lead the effort to integrate the best of ebrary and EBL – both in product and services. Additionally, the entire EBL team will be joining ProQuest and will remain focused on ensuring a smooth experience for customers through any future transition.
EBL grew from a simple idea in 2003 to a world leader in academic ebook supply in 2013, largely because of the continued feedback and support from libraries and the strong partnerships it has built over the years. We are very proud of the tradition of collaboration, innovation and service that formed our culture over the years and are committed to ensuring that these values endure.
